Grace Connection (Englewood) reports:
Things at Grace Connections are going crazy in a good way. I think we've added seven families in the last two weeks, and we are seeing an amazing time of growth in our church. We had to go buy more chairs this week, because we were afraid we wouldn't have enough for Sunday. Since we've added our new worship leader, things have just been going amazingly well. There are so many people coming to Grace or thinking about coming to Grace that I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the new names ... this is a good problem! I just thought you'd like to hear that good update!
Here's just one story to give you a little more in-depth taste of what's been happening. A couple families in our church have been responding to my messages about being a blessing in our community by asking if we can help a couple families who have lost everything (one due to fire, the other due to a horrible trucking accident that left a young dad needing a leg amputation). Anyway, I got with some young guys in town who are starting a concert production company, and they are putting together a benefit concert for these two families that should raise a good deal of money for them. Anyway, while these two young (totally unsaved) guys were in the church, one of them started asking if he could play around on the drums. Of course I let him. So he starts playing, and it turns out he's really good. So I asked him to come play for our church on Sundays, since we need a drummer. I figured he would find a nice way to say no. Instead, he was like, 'OK, that'd be great.' I told him about band practice, and he was ready to roll. So now it appears that we're going to have a heavily tattooed young drummer helping us worship Jesus .. and I'm going to be praying that Jesus will grab hold of his heart as he sits and listens to God's Word. It's just amazing how open he was ... plus I'd be willing to bet that his two other young friends will come to church with him and they'll get to hear about Jesus too. It's just an incredible season for our church as people are getting plugged in like crazy.

Andy shares that God is bringing people to their team and has been working through recent challenges (especially Trish’s thyroid cancer). The team has been led to push back their Grand Opening to fall, 2009.
Trish finished cancer treatments, has undergone full-body scan (don’t have results yet), maintains a positive spirit, gaining strength and stamina each day (should take 4-6 weeks to return to normal).
