Most Christians and many church leaders are not aware of the dire spiritual need in America or how we can best meet that need. The Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 17:18; 20:21; Acts 1:8) and passages like Rom. 10:1-15, Col. 4:2-6, 1 Thess. 1:4-10, 1 Pet. 2:9-10, and Rev. 5:9-10 make it clear that the Church is to reach out to all people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Let us not forget “our own people” here in America (cf. Rom. 9:3; 10:1-4; 11:13-14).
THE FACTS (as published by the Southern Baptist)
Ohio has over 11,500,000 residents. Fifty percent of these residents are not affiliated with any church at all. In most of Ohio’s cities on a typical Sunday morning, more people are at home or someplace other than a house of worship. In many of Ohio’s cities, if every church building of every denomination had two worship services, and if each of these services was 100% filled to capacity, more people would still be somewhere else other than a church service on Sunday morning. The bottom line is there are more people unchurched in Ohio than there are churches to fill their spiritual needs.
There are many ways you can participate in the church planting efforts around the state.
VisionOhio is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. All donations given to VisionOhio and its staff are tax-exempt and monitored by the VisionOhio Accountability Community consisting of the Director and the chairpersons of three Grace Brethren District Mission Boards in Ohio.
The Webbs and the Boehms individually raise their own personal support.Without their availability VisionOhio progress would be exceedingly slow and the work may not be effective at all. They depend on the donations of individuals, churches and other benevolent organizations who have a burden for reaching others in Ohio and starting new churches.
My mission is to focus on transformational ministries,
planting new churches and shadowing Jesus Christ for a “church a day” in Ohio.
